Rolle's surgery

Does it scare anyone else about Antrel Rolle having knee surgery again? Long time Cardinal fans are reminded of Tommy Knight. Andre Wadsworth as well. I'm not ready to throw him under the bus, but I am definately not optimistic about it. I really liked what I saw when Rolle played, so I hope it is just some minor damage, let him rest, hold him out longer than than they think. Reports are that he may be ready for training camp - I say give him another month than expected - he still will not miss any regular season games.

SOLD OUT!

It finally has happened. Every game will be sold out. This is a dream come true. For the last few years, me and a season ticket holder that sat in front of me always talked about not only having the stadium full, but full of mostly Cardinals fans. Game 1 will be so full of energy, the team will feel it and we will win convincently.

Every game will be on TV!

Now - the Cardinals stopped selling season tickets at around 58,000 - 60,000. They are leaving 3-5K available for single games. I did not understand the purpose of this until I saw that they are forcing the next folks to put a non-refundable deposit down for future season tickets. So if someone goes on the waiting list, then only buy one Bears game, they must either buy the next season or forfeit their money. Smart! It helps keep the momentum going for the years to follow. But the best way to make sure that attendance does not drop - WIN!!

Draft update

Ok ok - I know I have been slacking and have not been here awhile. But I have had other things going on. I did get a chance to go to the official draft party at Jackson's on third. That was crazy. There was a buzz going on there even before the awesome pick of Matt Leinart. My first 6 of 6 draft picks were correct - I missed on Oakland, mostly because I thougt someone would trade for Matt there, not because I thought they were going to pick them. The scenario for Matt to fall was seen possible before the draft started. I knew Oakland wanted Young, but they were not set on drafting a QB, just Young. Everything really hinged on Tennesee. The coaching staff wanted the better choice of Leinart, but the ownership wanted Young - I had a feeling they would win. Then when the Jets picked Fergason (as suspected), the party got a little excited thinking that Matt might fall. Everyone knew GB was to take AJ Hawk (excellent pick), SF would take Vernon Davis, then held our breath for Oakland - big cheer when they took Huff, because even though Buffalo could use Matt - we knew they would screw it up. Then Detroit - could they? They have McCown, they have Kitna, could they try to win now? When they selected Ernie Sims, Jackson's bar went nuts. We were chest bumping, fists raising, every cell phone was going off like crazy. Thankfully the Cards did not even waste time making their selection. It was very exciting. I saw a table order $50.00 bottle of champagne. ++++Cardinal fans - maybe our time has finally come ++++

I talked to Obafemi and Karlos Dansby while there and they both loved the pick. How could you not. I am not going to grade our draft, because evey publication out there has given us an "A" I am just very excited for the season to start.

I do want to send the Titans a nice thank you gift. Last year they took the idiot Pac Man Jones off the board for us so we can get the best CB out available, then this year they took the future bust Vince Young off the board so we can get the best QB of 2004 and 2005 available.

By the way - check out the new poll.
