First game Re-cap
Let's first talk about some outside factors on the game. I was able to get into the parking lot much faster, but still slow. But they are moving 64,000 people in and out at one time. If they opened up Bethany Home Rd - it could speed things up.
Now more important - the game.
It was sure pleasant watching the Cardinals move the ball down field and score touchdowns. I love the fact that they could punch it in with the run from the 2 yard line. Edge's leap was awesome! Nay-sayers are upset about the running game averaging 2.9 yards a carry. But let's look at the positive - Besides runs of 13 and 11 being taken away (would have been 3.8 yards per carry) ---I think the most telling figure is that they attempted 29 runs! This is what it is going to take to be successful!. Dennis Green didn't give up (except that one series in the fourth qtr).
Obviuosly our defense was suspect, and we would have been crushed against Seattle. We miss Dansby, also - since our defense is so fast, we will get suckered on those mis-direction plays. They must learn to adjust and be able to contain their lanes, and they will be ok. But Seattle plays the same way, mis-direction, the screen, so we better learn quick how to slow up and protect our field.
Overall - we won, we our 1-0 and can't have a better start than that.
