Cardinals keep 4 WR

Of the the final roster, it is slightly surprising the Cardinals are only keeping 4 WR. They did put 3 on the practice squad. To me, there were not really any other surprises. Many were shocked when FB James Hodgkins was cut, but Edgerrin said he prefers not to have a fullback, so it is obvious why he is not here. They put FB Bronson on the practice squad in case they change the need to go that route later. Hodgkins is better, but not elegible for practice squad.

Wakefeild moves to TE - this is weird except if you figure he is just there to block on running plays. Which of course gives away our scheme a bit. I would love to see him end the year with about 5 catches and a TD.

We seam to be loading up at safety - we added Hanik Milligan from San Diego. Interesting enough, he made the pro bowl last year (for special teams). Maty S. cut him because "Hanik wanted to only play safety" good news for the Cardinals, because if that's true, he'll change his attitude with us because he has already been cut, he will just try and be on the field in any way he can with us. That does give us 5-6 safeties, but may be necessary down the road. I say 6 because they are using Diamon Ferri from Syracuse as a safety. He is also a RB and had a nice pre-season at tailback for the Cards, but we'll see. I think they are trying to have players as versatile as possible to assist with the tight roster of 53. For example, we are light with depth at DE, so Calvin could come back and play there if we are ok on linebackers, and short on DE. Let's just hope for no injuries. This team will go far without injuries.
